Saturn is the only planet whose density is lower than that of water, approximately 30% less. If it were possible to find an ocean large enough, Saturn would float on it. The yellow color of the cloudy Saturn is marked by broad atmospheric bands similar, but thinner, than those found in Jupiter.

Most of the planet must be made up of dense substances and, in the case of a solid core, it is likely that it does not contain heavy elements, such as metals.
